Let's try something like this: Rate each of their body parts out of 100 according to the 05 Olympia.

Coleman:

back- 95- His left lat was a bit off.

biceps- 100- Great peak.

triceps- 50- Many people had better.

legs- 70- Definitely not the best, but not bad by any means.

chest- 90- Very impressive, but not quite his best imo.

abs- 60- Better than the previous year, but still a bit bloated.

calves- 70- Not too bad, but nothing special.

shoulders- 85- Very big, but not perfect.

traps- 95- Huge traps, still not best though.

Cutler:

back- 80- Very much improved, but not there yet.

biceps- 80- Big, but he's got a symmetry problem.

triceps- 95- One of the best there.

legs-100- Best wheels. Some would say Branch or Mo', but imo Cutler had more visible cuts.

chest- 70- Not too bad, but still too flat to beat Ron.

abs- 65- Slightly bloated, but not so bad as to detract from the rest of his body.

calves- 100- Great calves.

shoulders- 95- Huge shoulders, but some say they overpower other parts. I disagree, though.

traps- 85- Very good, but could use a little improvement.
---------
Overall:

Coleman- 715
Cutler- 770

What do you guys think? I myself was suprised at this result. I actually thought Coleman would win by about 30-40. Post your own ratings. Oh, and if anyone thought I was off by too much in one of these ratings, post pictures and explain why. No bashing and please use at least close to proper grammar.

agreed mate.colemans triceps r huge but just lack a bit of detail.damn many of u say his left tri was torn, hell when ronnie was doing individual posing in 2005,he triceps hang more than any 1 else.they r huge but lack a bit of detail.......

as far as iron jay goes the dude seems like he keeps himself juiced all year round.the guy is 1 dedicated guy but i think ronnie would take it .ronnie just knows wat 2 do and how 2 do it at the right time.big ron will nail this time also and i know cutler is making improvements each year but ronnie is known 2 nail his condition within 12 weeks before the contest.but still u never know.wat jay cutler has in store for us this time..........

It's not THAT mini...

I thought about it (insulting back), but after reading the rest of his posts and noticing how 60% of them are like what he just said, I figured it wasn't worth it. Come on Pain/Rob/whoever, get him out of here.

the problem with that rating system miniduck, is that each bodypart is weighted equally...while this might be good in theory, calves never won someone a Sandow.

Legs
Back
Chest

/100 each

Delts
Bis
Abs

/80

Tris
calves

/60

Forearms

/40

Might be closer to how I'd weight the body parts.

I actually thought about that soon after I posted. I would now do it as:

Back, legs, abs: 100

Biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders: 80

Calves, traps: 60

Forearms: 40

Of course symmetry and proportion would have to be weighted in, but proportion could get very complicated on here. I'll try to re-do the scores based on the format I just made.

We need more opinions based on this format as well.

---Oh, and Rob, how about some 2005 pictures, considering that's what we're rating off of.

Max points-

Back, legs, abs: 100

Biceps, triceps, chest, shoulders: 80

Calves, traps: 60

Forearms: 40
------------------
Coleman:

back- 95

legs- 70

abs- 60

biceps- 80

triceps- 40

chest- 70

shoulders- 70

calves- 45

traps- 55

forearm- 35

Cutler:

back- 80

legs- 100

abs- 70

biceps- 65

triceps- 75

chest- 60

shoulders- 75

calves- 60

traps- 50

forearms- 30

Overall:

Coleman- 620

Cutler- 665

So, it appears Cutler still won using this system. Please note that posing and proportion were not factored into this, but symmetry was.

So, it appears Cutler still won using this system. Please note that posing and proportion were not factored into this, but symmetry was.
I think this is a step in the right direction but I'm not sure if abs should be worth 100. Also, I'm not sure how you're determining these ratings. In legs, does Ronnie's 70 out of 100 mean that his legs are only as good as 70% of the other guys on stage or does it mean that his legs are 70% as good as legs possibly can be? What I mean by this is that Ronnie's legs are clearly better than 70% of the guys on stage at the O and even a higher percentage than that when compared to every other bodybuilder out there. You also say symmetry is involved but I'm not sure how you factored it in seeing how Jay scored a perfect 100 on legs yet one is clearly bigger than the other. I mean I'm not trying to say your system is bad but you're either obviously somewhat biased or just didn't think things through as much as you could've. Still, an interesting system, I just think it can be improved upon.

Seeing how I'm bored, I'm going to work on a system involving the top 10 guys at the Olympia and ranking them in order 1-10 in the following categories in order of importance:

Condition
-Overall leaness, Seperation, Detail, Dryness, Vascularity
Mass
-Total Size of Lean Mass
Shape/Proportion
-Actual Shape of Muscle Bellies, Fullness, Relation of Muscles in Comparison to Others
Symmetry
-Left to Right and Top to Bottom Symmetry

Those who score the highest in each category will receive ten points, the lowest will score one. The first two categories (conditioning and mass) will each be worth 30% of the total score; the other two (shape/proportion and symmetry) will be worth 20% each. Highest score will win. I'll post exactly what I came up with then I'm curious to hear everyone's opinion as well after I post. I'll do my best to be fair and objective so that if that means I won't mess with the results on purpose just to make Ronnie come out on top. I'll post my findings soon.

I basically scored it by how they good they were in relation to others in the competition. For example, I gave Ron a 95/100 for his back. He had the best thickness and detail, but not the best symmetry.

I made abs worth 100 because 1) everyone makes a huge deal out of them (look at all of the talk about Ronnie and Jay's "guts") and 2) you see them in 3-4 poses. I only gave them a 10 point difference, so it did not affect the scores that much.

You were right when you said I didn't think things through as much as I could have. I didn't have the pics on-hand, so I was just going by memory. I also try not to be biased; I was actually very surprised when Jay came out on top.

In conclusion, I really do appreciate your feedback and I find your posts informative and well thought-out. I'm looking forward to how your results come out.

True, but I'm only comparing the entire top 10 just to give a perspective to see how they rank compared to the other pros and also to get better basal numbers than just guessing arbitrarily as to what they should be. I'm still working it out and will post the results but I still don't like the numbers that miniduck came up with because he didn't really say where they came from at all. Once again, he had a great idea but I think it could be thought through better.

EDIT: Just saw miniduck's other post. Makes sense bro, just I feel it could use a little more tweaking

You wouldn't take me serieus, would you?
Jorn T my opinion is as is dont tell me to shut up. I dont necessarily believe in God but ronnie does and if he talks about how he thinks hes been "blessed by God" Hes not just training for himself he's training because he thinks thats the intention given down to him by some being greater then himself. Its an incredibley powerful thing to have faith in God and relating it to training is like giving a purpose greater then just for yourself. Even if i dont believe in God I can see the power in this philosophy Faith in God is in essence just reinforcing faith in yourself. Stop being so bitter and try to find something to believe in yourself other then flaming...

I agree 100% bro. Awesome post pickle. I fully believe in God and all of his graces bro. I see exactly where Ronnie is coming from.
