i would never do just one set of squats. Too much muscle ther to stimulate plus my back would deteriorate eventually.

yea, the one set thing is supposed to mean "one working set," with like 3 or 4 warmup sets. At least thats how dorian did it.

Nice article, I agree with Ben, Mentzer was far better than Arnold that year well ahead of Michaelangelo's the boy David (Zane).

While I agree with brief & high intensity I DO NOT believe in slow rep.
I barely feel it if I go slow.
Heavy weight, fast up, slower controlled down, short duration ...... always works for me.

It's not how long the workout takes, it's how brief and intense the target muscle is worked.

So you can have a long workout with lots of brief high intensity moments.

hey thanks guys
i think reason why his rep speed is so slow is that doing things quicker i read something dugdalle said about HIT in that he doesnt want to feel his muscle ballooning up with blood, rather feel its fibres straining against the weight.
i really like his 3/4 twist extended arm pose i mean WOW!
